If you attempt adding two trade names for the same substance, gnumed crashes .
1. I added trade name, and substance to respective field and pushed ok, and 
then add another 
2. Another trade name for same substance

I did not test what you posted, however notice that after playing with 
different options (and for reasons I cannot recall but maybe recorded somewhere 
on my laptop) I did not keep to


        \begin{itemize}
                ...
        \end{itemize}

but instead chose to use

        \begin{description}
                ...
        \end{description}

so you might try 'description'

??
