Indeed, that is what Jim helpfully reported. So far I cannot
verify his findings. Possible explanations include:

- Jim perhaps previously configured another source for checking
  client updates which source does not contain newer version
  strings (but he would know)

- the wiki - which hosts the default version string source -
  did not respond at the time of checking (but I believe we
  should see a relevant error message)
