Though not sure, epiinfo 7 from cdc website can help rapid production of html
forms which can communicate with server. In fact, a small emr can be designed
especially for a small clinic in a matter of days. A nice statistical software .

Whatever you decide we will be happy to hear what can be improved in GNUmed.
GNUmed is not specifically targetted at hospitals (no ward management etc.)
My main reason for mailing you was to point you at the (hidden but very
interesting) possibility to produce a webinterface on top of GNUmed which
could you the freedom to code any features you like while reusing the existing
middleware and backend.
Writing the user interface and features is appealing but once you need to go
for backend (postgresql) in an environment with many concurrent users it takes
quite some effort to get it right.
This is exactly the area where most EMR just hide the ugly details.
When I talked about data exchange I meant it could be nice to exchange records
electronically when sending a patient to your hospital and vice versa.
