Funny thing is I intended to slip in tiny bits of code to improve
interaction with korganizer. The first idea that came to mind was
to enable GNUmed to send recalls (messages with a due date) to
KOrganizer (via konsolekalendar) to be set as appointments.

Maybe Marc can report a bit on how he is managing appointments ?
IIRC he's (been?) using the appointment plugin.

None of the proof of concepts made it into GNUmed, eventually.
