Hello!
What about a logo renovation?
I have some skills on graphic design and image edition.
The reno would include the logo itself, icons, etc. For the
web, for the client itself, for anything imagination thinks of!
I saw here on the mailing lists that around 2008 there were
some proposals to change the logo, but it seems nothing stuck.
I have compiled a list of things/ideas for the logo, from those
posts around 2008:
From here https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/gnumed-devel/2008-05/msg00099.html :
- a sense of caring friendliness (which, generally, is
attributed to your GP, hopefully
- relatively clear imagery
- no "standard" Red Cross because of copyright issues
- one in-your-face item of the logo shall clearly say "this
is about healthcare given by doctors to patients in the
community" (as opposed to at the hospital)
- no hospital-related imagery
From here https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/gnumed-devel/2008-05/msg00122.html :
It should be easy to understand and crisp. No color preference.
No hospital related artwork please and no red cross.
From here https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/gnumed-devel/2008-05/msg00103.html :
It should function as a better icon for window frames and
desktop shortcut.
Give a more updated, professional look.
From here https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/gnumed-devel/2009-03/msg00129.html :
Putting it in a banner to announce releases with a template
would be nice.
As well as for buttons/etc on the web.
Now, I've been drafting some options already, and have some questions:
- gnu + snake redesign?
I could try to update the drawing of the gnu + snake,
although I think to keep in line of a more "modern" image
we would have to make the drawing quite minimalistic
(think open suse's chameleon).
- go without snake + gnu?
I could also try for an even more minimalistic, sleek
look (think codeberg's logo).
- one health?
Obviously being a vet myself I would like to somehow maybe
incorporate the "One health" mentality into the logo, as I
consider it is the future of healthcare in general.
Although I can see how incorporating this could be a bit
ambitious... (shoot fo the moon, I say!)
- any inspo pics? any other ideas? preferences?
I am open to anything, as long as it's not realistic human or
animals paintings ;) If it's a bit complicated, it'll just take
me a bit more time.
What do you think?
