I have only used version 1.2.0 from 2008 on guix.

I have not tried to build from the current git head. I will add that to my
to-do list this weekend and give you feedback on Monday.
I would like to be notified when gnurobots has a new release. I presume you
will announce the new release to info-gnu, correct?
