WIth the GNUstep ebuilds in Gentoo, giflib should be being used for
>=gnustep-back-0.9.5. WindowMaker may need >=windowmaker-0.92.0-r1
... I'm still working on that one -- been busy lately. ;-)
A quick note also is that it is "giflib" and "libungif.
Yes, but the "giflib" package installs "libgif.so".
ANother thing that I wondered is that it gets linked into every
application.
Thus if I recompile gnustep-core without gif support, Terminal.app or
GWorkspace.app won't start up since they don't find libungif
anymore.. I
hoped this could be insulated into the gui/backend only!
Hrm...I see this too, and that does seem wrong. Does anyone else out
there experience this on Linux-based systems? Or is this a GNUstep on
Gentoo thing? Let me know, before I go trying to fix something that
isn't really broken ...
