    Drastic simplification of gpsmon initialization sequence.
    
    Client-mode gpsmon now treats the daemon simply as a TCP source.
    The previous sequence had some weird holes, like an inability to
    set lexer debug levels.
    
    All regression tests pass.  PPS is live in gpsd and direct-mode gpsmon.
