Yes.  This has been discussed on the gpsd-dev list.  After endless
fights about how to link dynamic libraries this seemed like a 'final
solution'.

Size happens.  That total size is hardly a quarter of an SSD sector.

The people that would really care are the IoT people and they only
use the daemon.
