Hey, Gary -

I'm working on getting a better log file for you. The one I've been using for development is only about 30s, and doesn't have any startup messages.

We haven't been trying to.... should we? Why? What's the problem with GGA?

Yo teyrana!

Can you submit about a 60 second capture file of your GPS output?
Hopefully with a nix of NO FIX, 2D and 3D fixes?  I'll add it to
the 'scon check' so we can see how changes affect your application.

I Just pushed a simple update to your patch.  It looks for the longer
GPVTG that has the mode field that your GPS lacks.  I commented out
where it does the MODE_SET, but that is easy to undo.

Now we are down to the essential issue that needs fixing: getting the
report to not clobber other, better ata (mode, eps, etc.).

My guess is that we'll have to dig into the cycle detetion logic in
nmea_parse() to get a good solution.  Yes, it is funcky in there, but
it is not black magic.

Also, did you have any luck replacing the deprecated GPGGA in your
GPS output
