Unnecessary, as "apt purge" will also remove. Remove leaves the
configuration files in place. Purge also removes the configuration

I would check to be sure that you are removing only the files you
really want to remove.

Probably unnecessary, as the Debian gpsd package puts the executables
in /usr/sbin/ and /usr/bin/, and the above will remove them. (I am
guessing that your package puts them in the same places.) You should
also check /usr/local/bin and sbin.

Probably unnecessary, but harmless.

You should also purge gpsd-clients, as Frank Nicholas
<> has already mentioned. Indeed, run
the output of "apt-cache search gpsd | grep gps" through "apt purge".

Does anybody read signatures any more?
