I envision that the best route is to extend the UTP for that.

Why?  A too-big posting will be forwarded to the list by me.  The
limit is an additional safety guard against malicious spam attacks.
Note that most list don't allow attachments at all.  Most users prefer
that you post a link to a big file instead of sending the big file
directly.  Always bear in mind that some users (including me) use 56k
modems at least from time to time.

I'm quite open to this.  Many, many discussions start at a boring
technical level and get quite interesting after small (or even not so
small) shifts of the topic.

Maybe this list holds the eldest computer users right after the
discussion group `problems with alzheimer' :-)

Mhmm, after some thinking, a `FORTRAN veteran' list might exist
also...
