I can't since I don't have a Mac.  However, I've forwarded this mail
to the groff mailing list -- some users have experienced similar
problems and might help you, IIRC.

Sources can be found on ftp.gnu.org/gnu/groff.  I don't know where to
find precompiled binaries.
