It all seems a bit strange,

 Size=50 MB - very big kernel if it is true.

The video mode line doesn't seem to be valid, so I guess xserver is
indeed different.

Fedora also have efi loader, which is basically some hacking with grub
legacy. Perhaps you can try that and see if it works.
