A few more things you could try, in addition to what Neil and Ludovic
said:

./check-guile r6rs-ports.test

Does this segfault for you? If so:

./check-guile -i meta/gdb-uninstalled-guile r6rs-ports.test

Then run, and post the backtrace please.
