documentation question

I thought to make myself useful by making at least a rough cut at documenting the undocumented <guile-gtk-tree-model>, to save they next guy the trouble I just went through. But I find I'm not sure how to patch the manual. My first thought was to patch section-gtktreemodel.xml.texi, but that appears to be automatically generated, hence not a good subject for patching. What's the best way to add stuff to the manual? Should I write a new section and link to it from guile-gnome-gtk.texi?
