Hello Guix,
during the last weeks we worked hard to bring guix 0.15 to (open)SUSE.
Further then the "simple" version bump, we also improved the package of
guix :)
Installing guix on (open)SUSE should be as simple as:
zypper install guix
systemctl start guix-daemon
Between the different (open)SUSE distros exist some differences:
openSUSE Tumbleweed
Due being a rolling release distro, you get on Tumbleweed always the
newest version of guix.
openSUSE Leap 15
In the standard repositories guix is still on 0.14 and there are now
plans from our side to change that. From the devel:languages:misc[0]
repo you can get guix at version 0.15.
SUSE Linux Enterprise 15 (SLE)
Guix is not officially supported by SUSE, so there is no guix package in
SLE. By adding the devel:languages:misc and the security:tls[1]
repository, you should be able to install guix even on SLE :)
guix-weekly
This package of guix is directly build from the git source and gets
updated every week or so. It's purpose is to keep on track with changes
in guix master and to offer you a recent guix without using "guix pull".
It resides in the home:jbrielmaier:branches:devel:languages:misc[2] repo.
Thanks to all those people who helped us with packaging, in particular
Ludovic!
Happy Hacking
