[H-source-users] h-node: unable to use my email address when or after signing up

Hi maintainers,

A long time ago I created a support ticket in the Savannah tracker, 
don't know if you've seen it:

TLDR: cannot use my self-hosted email to sign up, had to use gmail... 
(ew, gmail)

If I enter my email address (this address), the page will say "e_mail 
doesn't seem an e-mail address". I assume it was because of a validation 
rule? I looked around in the php code but couldn't find out where was 
it. Your help is highly appreciated.
