The GNU HaliFAX Viewer 0.22.0, codenamed "No codename for this
release", has been released

The GNU HaliFAX Viewer (ghfaxviewer) is the viewer of the GNU HaliFAX
Project, which is a GNU project dedicated to provide a free software
client-suite of applications for free fax systems, with HylaFAX(tm) as
its first target.

This is a bug-fix release.

The GNU HaliFAX project comprises another component, GFax, which acts
as a sender agent for the HylaFAX and the mgetty+sendfax systems.

Changes since version 0.21.1 include:
- the bug that caused low-res pages to be displayed improperly was
  fixed;
- various visual enhancements and cleanups;
- portability fixes (ghfaxviewer can be built and print out-of-the-box
  on FreeBSD);
- a lot of code cleanup;

The official distribution site for the GNU HaliFAX project is located
at: ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/halifax/

A webpage is currently under construction. A preliminary and temporary
version is available at: http://www.gnu.org/software/halifax/

A development page is available on Savannah, the GNU project's clone
of SourceForge. http://savannah.gnu.org/projects/halifax/

We now have mailing lists. For general discussions about GNU HaliFAX,
check out http://mail.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/halifax-discuss
or
send a message to address@hidden with the word
"subscribe" somewhere in the message.

Please report bugs to address@hidden

Binaries won't be provided anymore as there were problems with my
cross-distribution packages. That program is however ready to be built
for the Debian GNU/Linux and the RedHat GNU/Linux distributions.

Happy Faxing!

Wolfgang
