[Health] Aakash Tablet

Dear Chris,

As the site mentions, the upgraded version of Aakash is expected to be delivered somewhere around late Jan. You have brought a valid point that there should be some features and there are some concerns. It is a London based firm so we can expect slightly expensive versions in near future.

One thing is for sure that as upgraded versions of the tablet enter the market it is also going to spread geographically across countries probably through Telecom operators.

Thought:
We can send a combined request to the firm exclusively from health forum members with questions and delivery options. We can send a list of people who are interested to buy and ask for options. We can also ask them to officially support the GNU Health cause with any additional support.

Thanks
Paras

Dear All,
Excellent tip. However, in a clinical environment, and even more so
outside the Indian subcontinent, there are a few points to consider:
Robustness (these things will be thrown around!), gorilla glass cover?,
battery life.
Also, availability of service in-country (spares, such as batteries,
chargers, screen, etc. will be required).
With this price, it is certainly worth while to buy and test one. I
would be happy to do so, but how to get it into Vietnam, or East Africa,
or Europe???
Merry Christmas to all of you!
Chris
