RE: CVS source. Where is the 'configure' script

There is no configure script in CVS because it is auto-generated by
autoconf from configure.ac -- you need an installation of libtool,
automake, and autoconf to use the CVS version.  If you have those tools,
you can run ./autogen and that will take care of everything.
