Using gnudoit, you can use the -q option to pass any Elisp you like, e.g.:
gnudoit -q "(html-helper-mode)" foo.html
gnudoit probably appears in the same directory on your system as gnuclient.
The same functionality might work with gnuclient as well, but I don't think so.
I read somewhere that the use of gnudoit is deprecated, but I don't recall what
the replacement is, and it works great for me ;-)
