You can do this with the normal Emacs 23 downloaded from ftp.gnu.org
- Add "(server-start)" to ~/.emacs
- Right-click on a file of whatever type you want Emacs to be the
default for and set C:\Path\to\Emacs\bin\emacsclientw.exe as the
opener.
- Set the environmental variable ALTERNATE_EDITOR to
C:\Path\to\Emacs\bin\runemacs.exe
Works like a charm.
