The potential problem is that JAVA by default does/did not let an applet
contact another server than the one it came from. What was counted as "same
server" changed over the years. So people starting SnakeCharmer from a file via
aplletviever could get problems.
There were one or two people in this list over the years who were not able to
configure JAVA_HOME in a way that was understood by JAVA. As a consequence,
JAVA fell back to some fairly restrictive security settings.
You would not see this in TicTacToe, as TTT does not contact any server (I
guess).
