Do I get it correctly that you mean /this/ expect?

If so, no, I didn't, even though I know about it (see
https://mbork.pl/2024-12-09_The_expect_command_line_tool ;-)). What
I need is something very different - I don't want a shell script or
a Tcl script to drive the process, I want Emacs to do it.
