just tried the autotools branch with
$ clang++-3.9 --version
clang version 3.9.1-5 (tags/RELEASE_391/rc2)
Target: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu
Thread model: posix
InstalledDir: /usr/bin
$ ../configure CXX=clang++-3.9 &ct

that seems to work. note that autotools is based on "unstable". and the
real problem is already fixed there (+ unrelated to autotools, maybe).
