There are several, I'd take one that integrates well with your OS. For
win32, that would be e.g. DevC++, for systems based on X11 there are
several kdevelop (KDE) and anjuta (GNOME) come to mind as most popular
ones. For terminal-based development, there are motor and EMACS, both of
which of course also work in a terminal window.
