In 2007, Brian Gough and Jordi Gutierrez Hermoso briefly discussed the
possible extension of GSL to second-order derivatives:

Is anyone presently working on this for GSL?
And is anyone working on adding second-order mixed partial derivatives, e.g.
\frac{\partial^2 f(x,y)}{\partial x \partial y}
to GSL ?
