Nope, I almost always reboot to Linux after a crash/hang to make sure
fsck is run. This time though I got your error when trying to login.
However, it seems I've escaped the problem by

        login> exec su
        hurd# su -
        hurd# apt-get update && apt-get dselect-upgrade

This gave me an upgraded set of hurd servers and some other
packages. Maybe we can avoid this error if we reinstall the
hurd servers every time? I need to replicate this to make sure.
If I get the error again and can fix it I'll post to this thread
again.
