Use a combination of:

>>> 1 >>>
ABC_VAR = myfilename

include $(ABC_VAR)
<<<<<

>>> 2 >>>
vpath %.mk <PATHNAME>

include myinclude.mk
<<<<<

I didn't check <2>, but assuming vpath can be used there, it should work.
