one makefile for many programs

Hello
I am learning c++ and happen to arrange my exercies
solutions in one directory for each solution.
since I am calling all my solution files main.cpp, I
would like to use one makefile in the parent directory
instead of copying the same makefile in each solution
directory, how can I do it?
