Hi all. Is there a variable describing the target(s) that make was
invoked with?

Sec 9.2 " `Make' will set the special variable `MAKECMDGOALS' to the list
of
goals you specified on the command line. If no goals were given on the
command line, this variable is empty. Note that this variable should
be used only in special circumstances."

Thanks for that and for the other replies. I did search through the info pages but somehow I missed it. I was focused on the word "target" in my search which is possibly why I missed it, I didn't realize that command-line targets were called "goals". Or more likely I just wasn't very thorough.

Thanks again for your help,
Bryan
