[Help-nano] nano for Windows doesn't find .nanorc

Using nano 2.2.6 Windows 7. 

Compiled options: --disable-mouse --enable-color --enable-extra
--enable-multib
uffer --enable-nanorc

I have the following environment variable setting:

  set SYSCONFDIR=c:/conf

and c:/conf contains my .nanorc. 

Nano does however not honor the settings in .nanorc. Is there something
special I need to observe when defining the SYSCONFDIR?
