For long-form prose I use the facilities of Emacs org-mode but
for short-form prose, of which I write a lot, I use nano.
It's dead simple and blazing fast and nothing gets in the way.
But of course all of you know this.
I made a little script called 'nanowrite'[1] that sets up all the
defaults I like and have that script on a hotkey in my i3
environment.
