1) Are you sure you did a *binary* transfer with ftp?  Compare your
directory listing with a listing from the ftp site to make sure the
files have the same length.  Of course, this mistake could have been
made during the upload, too.

2) You should quote the URL of what you downloaded (site as well as
filename).
