I did that but did not solve the problem.
I still see the bars. These bars are weird indeed, if I highlight the
text and then click somewhere else they disappear.

Hi Gino!

In the properties of that "nice icon" there is a line where a call to
rxvt is made. Replace the "Lucida ..." with:

Courier New-14

and It should work
