The Octave documentation states that structures can be returned from Octave functions, but is silent with regard to using structures as arguments in functions. Can structures be passed to functions as arguments? If not, why not?

Structures are just variables, and any variables can be passed into and out of functions. This includes numeric, structure, cell arrays, etc.
