You are correct that all vtk classes are available in octave via
octaviz. I don't know anything about Ensight files, but I'm sure you
can read them in to a vtk-object variable in octave. Further operations
would give you direct access to the data values.

Hi,
I just read that octaviz has wrappers for all VTK classes.
So could it be possible to read in the ensight-files with
existing vtk-classes?
Greetings!
