Thanks Etienne, that works and that is a good enough solution for me.
James, though in the end I would prefer a muliplot situation, but
right now, Etienne's solution is what I was looking for. Thanks to you
too.

Also to add to this solution, setting an output file for the dumb
terminal, avoids the "text-mode" plot to be displayed on the octave
screen (terminal).
