Thank Michael Goffioul for that, though I did the original work on the
mingw build a couple of years back.

If you use this version it must be considered as highly experimental as
it is against an arbitrary CVS of octave, with a number of patches from
Michael, which is why its on my homepage and not sourceforge. Therefore,
its probably not a good idea to advertise this version too widely.

It might be the use of console2 rather than cmd.exe that is slowing
things up.
