Errors compiling Octave |

Hello, I'm trying to compile octave-2.9.19 in my RockCluster 4.3.1
64bit, the kernel version is 2.6.9-55.0.2, glibc 2.3.4-2.36 and gcc
3.4.6.
There is no problem when I execute ./configure --enable-shared
But the following error appears when I execute make
/usr/bin/ld:
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/3.4.6/../../../../lib64/libf77blas.a(sgbmv.o):
relocation R_X86_64_32 against `a local symbol' can not be used when
making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/3.4.6/../../../../lib64/libf77blas.a:
could not read symbols: Bad value
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
Does Anybody know how to solve this?
Thank you very much
