Hi,
I've been using octave now for some time and was wondering editor works
well with octave. So far I have been using geany (http://www.geany.org/)
because I can execute my m files by pressing F5. I really like this
feature because it offers you a quick way to execute your code and makes
debugging more comfortable. You can also get a similar behavior with
gedit. Are there any other editors that work well with octave? I also
know that qtoctave offers a full GUI to octave. I tried it, but didn't
really like it.
It should be easy to integrate any text editor that supports macros, on Linux using the screen application. If anybody is interested, and can show how I did this for Vim (my editor of choice). I have integrated it in such a way that I can run portions of code, or the whole file. I use KDE, but none of the ideas is KDE specific.
