I have downloaded qtoctave0.7.2_octave3.0.0_Portable_win32.zip from url
http://qtoctave.wordpress.com/2008/03/02/qtoctave-portable-windows/
and have had success in a laptop which had not Octave installed, but not in
other one that had Octave installed. Actually by launching qtOctave an error
message appeared, but after reading your message I have launched it again
and it works.
