The Octave Forge instrucions seem to define C:\Octave\Octave3.6.4_gcc4.6.2\ <=> <your_install_dir> However if I use only C:\Octave <=> <your_instal_dir> with the 7-zip File Manager I get the same directory structure as you. Now I can list and load sockets package. I needed sockets package to try out the serialport package.
