I want to install an older version of octave(3.2 or 3.4) in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.
Could you please tell me how can I do this.
download the source, configure, compile and install.
I need older version for a course that uses it. Some commands are not
working on the new one.
Which commands ?  May be we can help you to use the latest version
To amplify Marco's point, I believe it would be simpler to figure out how to run your code with newer octave than to figure out  the installation of the old version.
