Actually, after I got reply from Aaron S. Hawley then I found out it is not
hang , it just waiting for the comment part.
when use linux machine directly do ci/co, output is:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
[intellinux1:kervin]/remote/na1h0home/kervin/temp/ci -u aaa.c
RCS/aaa.c,v <-- aaa.c
new revision: 1.5; previous revision: 1.4
enter log message, terminated with single '.' or end of file:
>>
------------------------------------------------------------------------
However if I use SUN machine rsh linux machine to do the ci/co, the output
turn out to be like this:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
[intellinux1:kervin]/remote/na1h0home/kervin/temp/rsh blade1k10 "cd
/remote/na1h0home/kervin/temp;/remote/psdbin/tools/bin/ci -u aaa.c"
RCS/aaa.c,v <-- aaa.c
new revision: 1.2; previous revision: 1.1
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please note, the ">>" part of the beginning of the line got chopped, that is
the part cause me confused.
Thanks for all the answers!

Does it hang if you run the command from an interactive session on the
Sun (i.e. if you use rlogin to connect to the Sun and then type "ci
-u")?
