GST 2.2 on Gentoo Linux 2.6.13-r5 on Intel P4

This simple ackermann program doesn't seem terminate n>9

It works fine for n=9

$ time /usr/local/bin/gst -QI /usr/local/share/smalltalk/
ackermann.gst -a 9
Ack(3,9): 4093

real    0m15.860s
user    0m12.357s
sys     0m0.792s

For n=10, the program displayed the result after about 10 minutes but
did terminate - so eventually I killed the program.

$ time /usr/local/bin/gst -QI /usr/local/share/smalltalk/
ackermann.gst -a 10
Ack(3,10): 8189
