Hi,
I'm having a problem extracting an archive from tape, I can backup to the
same device ok, but when I attempt to restore the archive I get the following
error:
tar: /dev/ht0: Cannot read: Input/output error
tar: At beginning of tape, quitting now
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
The commands I use are:
Backup: tar -cvf /dev/ht0 /home ** Works OK.
Restore: tar -xvf /dev/ht0 /home
Device is an Internal HP Colorado 5Gb EIDE tape.
OS - Linux, k2.4.18
tar Version - (GNU tar) 1.13.18
thx, Tony.
