Well, like it says: it needs a file named `dir', the main directory of
Info manuals.  Do you have such a file on your system?

Yes. The path to which it was installed is "C:\Programme\GNU\TexInfo 4.6\info\dir". The contents of ""C:\Programme\GNU\TexInfo 4.6\info\" is as follows:

29.04.2004  15:38    <DIR>          .
29.04.2004  15:38    <DIR>          ..
14.09.2003  13:32             1.147 dir
14.09.2003  13:31           118.311
14.09.2003  13:31            55.897
14.09.2003  13:31           153.918 texinfo

and all files appear to be correct. I also tried to move these files into the "bin" folder or to move the whole "info" folder into the "bin" folder, but info.exe still could not find 'dir'.

I also looked for a configuration file specifying the path to 'dir', but could not find any.
