problem in cvs client/server conf

Hello,
I have redhat linux 7.0 server.
I had installed cvs-1.11.1 and ssh-2.4.0 .
I have some problem in client/server configuration.
I am also followed CVS manual while configuring client/server, in manual they 
have given /etc/inetd.conf,.rhosts  files which have to be modified .
But Iam unable to find those files in my system.
Can I get any alternative files .
Please help me.
